Three days of celebration by the Andaman Sea

The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi 18 to 21 December 2026
Begin

The Invitation

We're getting married, and there's no one we'd rather have there than you.

So we did something a little mad. We booked an entire resort on the edge of the Langkawi rainforest, right where the jungle spills into the Andaman Sea, and we're stealing our favourite people away for three full days. Think warm air, bright colour, long dinners, and dancing that runs far too late. All you have to do is get yourself to the island. From the moment you land, you're our guest, and the rest is on us. Just pack a bag, bring your best self, and come celebrate. We honestly can't wait.

See you in Langkawi, Julia & Agam

A Welcome to Asia

Friday 18 December

Check in, drop your things, and join us that evening at the Chinese restaurant for dinner. There's a proper feast waiting, because what's a trip to this side of the world without incredible Asian food. Nothing fancy tonight, just good food, a drink in hand, and everyone we love finally in one place. Settle in and soak it up, because tomorrow we turn it all the way up.

  • Arrival & Check-InLand, settle in, and breathe out
  • Welcome DinnerA relaxed spread to kick the weekend off
Day Two A floral mandap with marigold garlands and hanging lanterns against an Andaman Sea sunset

The Wedding

Saturday 19 December

A traditional North Indian wedding that takes over the entire day, loud and colourful and impossible not to get swept up in. It opens with a riot of marigold and music in the afternoon, builds into a procession with drums you'll feel in your chest, and lands at golden hour with the vows, the sea glowing behind us as the sun drops into it. Then dinner, and a dance floor that refuses to quit.

  • Haldi & MehndiMarigolds, music, henna, and colour everywhere
  • The BaraatDrums, dancing, and a procession down to the sea
  • The CeremonyThe vows, just as the sun hits the water
  • Dinner & DancingGreat food, then the floor opens up and stays open

Russian Reception

Sunday 20 December

Two parties, one day. We start poolside in the afternoon with a Barbie and Ken bash, all colour and zero seriousness. Then the sun goes down, the tone turns glamorous, and we close the weekend with a black-tie reception. Great food, free-flowing drinks, and dancing well past midnight.

  • The Grand FinaleCocktails, dinner, and dancing under the stars

The Venue

The Ritz-Carlton,
Langkawi

Our home for the weekend sits inside a rainforest that's been growing here for over a hundred million years, with the Andaman Sea right at its feet. It's wild, green, and wonderfully calm. You'll likely spot monkeys in the trees and along the paths, and the odd one near the rooms. They're friendly and they belong here, so no need to panic, just enjoy them. The idea is to slow down, breathe, and spend three unhurried days in nature together.

Where to Stay

Your room is on us

There's nothing to book and nothing to pay. We've reserved the whole resort, so your room is covered, and so is every meal, breakfast, plus lunch and dinner across the wedding events. Basically, once you land, it's all on us. No hotels to compare, no rates to chase. Just show up and check in.

Getting to Langkawi

Travel & arrival

Langkawi is a short hop from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore into Langkawi International Airport (LGK), and the resort is about 25 minutes from there. If you're flying long-haul from the US or elsewhere, give yourself a day or two in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore first to shake off the jetlag before heading to the island. If you're coming from India, the fastest route is the direct flight from Bangalore (BLR) on Fridays. However you get here, plan to arrive on the 18th so you don't miss the welcome dinner, and fly home on the 21st.

Dress Code

What to wear, event by event

Each day has its own feel, so here's a simple guide so you're never caught out. The short version: it'll be warm, you'll be dancing, and the goal is to look great while staying comfortable. When in doubt, dress festive and dress cool.

Day One · Fri 18 Dec

Welcome Dinner

Relaxed cocktail

Our first night together, kept deliberately low-key. No strict dress code, just turn up in whatever makes you feel like yourself.

Colours: any you like
Women

A cocktail dress, or anything relaxed and a little elegant.

Men

A smart shirt, with a blazer if the mood takes you. Comfort over formality tonight.

Day Two · Sat 19 Dec · daytime

Haldi & Mehndi

Think sunshine

A bright daytime celebration with henna, music, and a bit of turmeric flying around. Pick something you won't mind catching a stray splash or two, and keep it light for dancing in the heat.

Every shade of yellow welcome
Women

Traditional North Indian wear, pick whatever shade of yellow you love. A kurta, sharara, anarkali, or lehenga all work beautifully. Keep the jewellery simple and the shoes comfy (juttis or sandals you can dance in).

Men

A kurta set with churidar or pyjama, breezy and breathable. Finish with juttis or mojaris.

Day Two · Sat 19 Dec · evening

The Ceremony

Traditional North Indian formal

The wedding itself, at sunset by the sea. This is the night to bring out your finest.

Any colour, traditional Indian
Women

A richly embellished lehenga, anarkali, or saree in any colour you love, with the good jewellery you save for special occasions.

Men

A sherwani or bandhgala in rich tones with a churidar. Keep it traditional and skip the western suit for this one.

Day Three · Sun 20 Dec · daytime

Barbie & Ken Pool Party

Come as Barbie or Ken

A playful, pink-and-blue pool party for the afternoon. Lean all the way into the Barbie or Ken theme as much as you like.

Barbie pink & Ken blue
Barbie

Lean into pink. A dress, a poolside set, whatever feels most fabulous, finished with oversized sunglasses and a sunhat. Wedges or sandals for the deck.

Ken

Go for blue. An open shirt, shorts or chinos, sliders, and shades. Relaxed and sunny is the vibe.

Day Three · Sun 20 Dec · evening

Russian Reception

Black tie

The grand finale, and the most glamorous night of the weekend. Save one of your sharpest looks for tonight.

Bold colours, just not white
Women

A floor-length gown or an elegant cocktail dress in any colour that makes you feel like a knockout. Two rules: leave white to the bride, and skip black.

Men

A tuxedo or sharp dark suit with polished shoes, black very much welcome. Black tie done properly.

Good to Know

A few useful notes

Weather

December in Langkawi is warm and tropical, around 26 to 32°C (about 79 to 90°F). Pack light and breathable, and expect a quick warm shower now and then.

What to Pack

Sunscreen, a hat, sandals you can dance in, and outfits for each event. Lay everything out before you fly so nothing gets left behind.

The Spirit

This is a chill wedding, start to finish. No long sit-down dinners, no endless speeches, no stiff formalities. The only goal is for everyone to relax, enjoy, and have a genuinely good time. Come ready to let go.

Dietary Needs

Vegetarian, vegan, and allergies are all taken care of. Just let us know when you RSVP and we'll handle the rest.
